    Abstract:

    According to the optical and structural characteristics of the components of a vegetative canopy, the directional and bidirectional scattering coefficients of the canopy are derived and discussed theoretically, with the azimuth angles of incoming light vector and exiting light vector being considered. The results extend Coudriaan's calculations and in- clude Suit's conclusions as a special case.
