Abstract:In this paper, the procedures and principles of three different water extraction methods: index modeling, supervised classification and decision are presented respectively. By taking Dongting Lake as an example, a comparison among these three methods is made and thus a certain basis is provided for the use of the optimum water extraction models for different purposes at different time.

Abstract:The waveguide modulator with a ridge structure is analyzed by using the Fast Fourier Traslator method. According to the fact that the thickness of the SiO2 buffer layer can not be ignored, the impact due to the thickness of the SiO2 buffer layer is especially calculated. On the basis of this calculation, the impact of the SiO2 buffer layer thickness on the characteristic impedance and dielectric constant in the modulator with a ridge structure is obtained. After considering the factors such as speed matching, impedance matching, half-wave voltage and difficulty in fabrication, all parameters of the modulator are optimized. The results have shown that the modulator with a proper thickness of buffer layer can effectively reduce its equivalent refractive index while keeping larger characteristic impedance, thus greatly improve its modulation width and meet the requirement of high speed fiber optical communication.

Abstract:The photonic crystal filters operating at three wavelengths of 850nm, 1330nm and 1550nm in optical communication are studied by using an optical transfer matrix method. How to let the filter operate at a given wavelength and has a extremely narrow band through the selection of the refractive index and width of each layer is also studied. Through calculation, the parameters of the photonic crystal filters operating at the above three wavelengths are obtained. The calculation results have shown that the centeral wavelength can move toward the long wavelength when the thickness of a defect mode is not changed. The extremely narrow band photonic crystal filters with a line width of 0,0001nm at the wavelengths of 850nm, 1330nm and 1550nm can be fabricated when the proper parameters are selected.

Abstract:The development of a visual simulation system for planet terrain laser ranging is very important to the processing of planet terrain information. The digital planet terrain is simulated by using a fractal method and the satellite orbit data and the survey point distribution are calculated. The regular DEM is obtained for the surveyed terrain information and the 3D scene of satellite orbit and survey point distribution in the survey are demonstrated dynamically. The difference between the original terrain and the surveyed terrain is displayed through a terrain render algorithm based on LOD.

Abstract:A rapid automatic 3D city model reconstruction method based on multi-view images is proposed. First, the multi-view images are captured from the region to be reconstructed. After the processing of digital photometric information, the 3D information on terrain is extracted automatically. Then, the geometrical information about buildings are captured semiautomatically with an interactive mapping process and the roof and wall texture of the buildings is extracted automatically from the multi-view images. Thus, the model of buildings and the 3D scene of the reconstructed region can be established. Experimental results have shown that this method is feasible and effective.

Abstract:After Comparing some other architectures of different digital potentiometers, a gain- programmed amplifier based on an AD8402 digital potentiometer which can set offset voltage is presented. The hardware principle and software design of this method are described and some notices for using AD8402 are given. The gain-programmed amplifier has a simple hardware architecture , high quality, low price and widespread availability.

Abstract:The Micro-mirror Array Projector System (MAPS) is a state-of-art dynamic scene projector. It is based upon a Texas Instrument's Digital Micro-mirror Device (DMD) which has been modified to project high resolution and realistic imagery suitable for testing sensors and seekers operating in the UV, visible, NIR and IR wavebands. In this paper, the operation principle and drive board of DMD are described in detail.

Abstract:It is very important to use infrared imaging for target automatic detection in the modern defense technology. In this paper, all kinds of common segmentation algorithms of moving targets which can be used in the shadow compensation phase of target detection of infrared warning systems are further studied. The effectiveness of each algorithm in processing images is simulated by using a software. The advantages and disadvantages of different algarithms are summarized. A 2D maximum entropy approach based on the subtraction between two consecutive frames is proposed. The experimental results have shown that the proposed approach is effective for the detection of regional moving targets in infrared image sequences.
