Abstract:Infrared detector technology made great progress in the 20th century and its application in the field of space remote sensing is becoming wider and wider. Since there are many different types of radiation in the outer space, it is necessary to study the irradiation effects of infrared detectors. This paper presents the knowledge of space radiation environment including cosmic rays, Van Allen radiation belts, solar particle events and secondary particles in atmosphere and spacecraft, and then summarizes the current study of the irradiation effects of infrared devices.

Abstract:A Metal-Semiconductor-Metal (MSM) ultraviolet photodetector was fabricated on the un-doped n-Al0.3Ga0.7N grown by Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD). The detector exhibited a sharp cutoff at the wavelength of 300nm, which was in accordance with the band gap of Al0.3Ga0.7N. It had dark currents of 1pA and 1nA at the biases of 2.5V and 6.5V respectively and had a responsivity of 0.038A/W at the bias of 1V and at the wavelength of 298nm.

Abstract:According to the theory of infrared radiation and the formulas for calculating the detection distance to the point target of an infrared imaging system, all kinds of factors that affect the detection distance of an infrared imaging system are discussed. The appropriate formulas for error calculation are given.

Abstract:The application of a new multidimensional signal processing method-Independent Component Analysis to image edge feature extraction is discussed in this paper. By using the information maximization algorithm of ICA implemented by an unsupervised learning neural network, it can get the basis functions of the natural images. The basis functions have directionality and locality at spacial frequences and can describe the edge features of the natural images well. The experimental results have shown that the ICA can extract the edge features of images even in the presence of noise.

Abstract:A quarter wave plate (QWP) is frequently used in a pulse Nd : YAG laser resonator and its function is determined by its location and the direction of the fast axis in the resonator. This paper gives a detailed analysis of the application of QWP in a typical pulse Nd : YAG laser resonator. Particularly, a method to control the polarization of the laser beam by adjusting the fast axis direction of QWP is proposed.

Abstract:The development of MOS Resistor Array Dynamic Infrared Scene Projectors (DIRSP) is presented in this paper. The main parameters, such as true temperature, equivalent blackbody radiation temperature, temperature range, temperature resolution, crosstalk, non-uniformity and frame rate, for characterizing DIRSP are studied. Some suggested test methods for some important parameters are mentioned especially and the necessary knowledge for further research of DIRSP are provided.

Abstract:The characteristics and the adsorption principle of Activated Carbon Fibers (ACF) are presented in this paper. The adsorption characteristics of the gas and dropped particles released from the ACFs to the material at low pressures and low temperatures and the desorption characteristics of ACFs at different temperatures are discussed. The use of adsorbent can prevent the optical devices of spaceborne infrared instruments from being contaminated to a certain extent.

Abstract:The development of NIR technology and its application to the identification of storedgrain insects are presented briefly. Through the analysis of the current near infrared spectoscopies for identifying stored-grain insects in the world, a new research idea of identifying stored-grain insects by combining the NIR technology with the image recognition is proposed.

Abstract:本文对一个640×512元的长波长截止窄波段(△λ/λ≈10%)量子阱红外光电探测器焦平面列阵、一个在4μm-16μm谱区有四个波段的量子阱红外光电探测器焦平面列阵和一个截止波长为15.4μm的宽波段(△λ/λ≈42%)量子阱红外光电探测器焦平面列阵进行了论证。
