To help people to understand the applications of infrared images in urban construction, the application basis of infrared remote sensing image data is presented. How to appropriately understand the urban heat islands and their detection and control problems met in urban construction is described. Finally, the scientific method in which the infrared remote sensing is synchronized with the ground temperature monitoring is outlined. This work can help people to have a scientific understanding and countermeasure to the heat feeling in urban travelling.
