    Abstract:

    Several methods for measuring Raman gain coefficient in optical fibers, such as on-off method, pulse-scan technique and single light source measurement method, are presented in detail in the aspects of operation principle and experiment equipment. Their advantages, disadvantages and applications are analyzed respectively in the aspects of pump power, Raman frequency shift and the complexity of experiment equipment. Thus, reference is provided for the selection of proper measurement methods in the future.
