Withdrawing of infrared image outline characteristics is an important technical basis for recognization and interpretation. This paper presents the Matlab used in infrared image processing and its main characteristics and gives out the withdrawing language and processing results. It has been shown that Matlab is liable to infrared image outline characteristic withdrawing and this method is better than the Sobel calculation method.
