The technique of image denoising is one essential part of image processing. Now, a series of relatively mature filter preprocessing techniques have been used in point target detection. In this paper, the preprocessing methods for infrared point target images are analyzed and then two algorithms for background suppression based on difference are given. Finally, these two methods for background suppression are analyzed and compared with each other according to the simulation result.
