A novel correlation tracking algorithm towards the forward-looking infrared imagery tracking in the aiming cabin is presented. The algorithm adopts the project of onedimensional-histogram quick-searching and two-dimensional multistage subsample accurate positioning, making real-time processing possible. It also effectively improves the system tracking precision by using accumulated error frame-jump correction based on correlation of the sequence images. Experimental results are in agreement with theories.
