Abstract:Quantum dots have attracted considerable interest for their atomic-like properties in recent years.The quantum dots grown by epitaxial self-assembly via Stranski-Krastanow growth mode have many favorable properties for infrared application,such as higher operational temperature,increased signal-to-noise ratio,reduced dark current,wider spectral range and sensitivity to normal incident ra- diation.They are potential candidates for developing a new class of infrared detectors.Some of the latest published developments in the fabrication techniques of quantum dots abroad are summarized and reviewed in this paper.

Abstract:The research on survival detection systems is of most importance to the post-earthquake search and rescue in our country.In this paper,the application of infrared techniques in survival de- tection instruments is discussed.The principles of dual waveband infrared temperature measurement and pyroelectric infrared detection are studied.The novel infrared phase imaging and the typical in- frared temperature measurement systems,infrared alarming systems and infrared imaging systems are presented.These provide the theoretical reference for the survival detection based on infrared techniques.

Abstract:The light scattering characteristics of graphite microsphere particles are analyzed in theory and calculated numerically by using Mie's scattering theory.The relation of the extinction characteristics with the incident wavelength and particle radius,the relation of the scattering intensity with the scattering angle and the relation of the scattering intensity with the parameter x are obtained.The results show that the less the particle radius is,the better the extinction effectiveness is;the shorter the incident wavelength is,the greater the forward scattering intensity of the particle is.Therefore,the radius of a microsphere can be determined through the measurement of the distribution of the forward scattering light.

Abstract:In this paper,liquid-coupling,a method for measuring the transmission loss of organic polymer waveguide is presented.Because the traditional prism coupling method has some shortages in experiment operation and measrement precision,the liquid which has a higher refractive index than that of the thin film of the waveguide is used instead of an output prism in this method.The coupling of the waveguide light is achieved.A high precision data collecting system based on a TLC2543 chip is designed to collect optical intensity and fit the attenuation curve of the optical intensity.Compared with the traditional method,this waveguide lore measurement system has the features of simpliness,accuracy and etc.and is of good value to many applications.

Abstract:Estimation of the detection distance of an infrared imaging system is of great importance to the design level improvement,cost reduction and development and production period shortening for infrared systems.However,the detection distance can be affected by many factors such as the characteristics of a target,the transmission in atmosphere,the parameters of the thermal imaging system and etc..These make the estimation of the detection distance of an infrared imaging system be very difficult.The traditional estimation method of the infrared detection distance generally considers the atmospheric transmission coefficient as a constant.This will result in a great error.In this paper,the variation of the atmospheric transmission coefficient with the environment in the atmospheric aerosol mode is considered and a more detailed expression of the detection distance from a target is given.By programming and searching for the relevant data,the detection distances of an infrared imaging system against a point source and a extended source are calculated.

Abstract:In order to solve the problem exists in the common measuring method of the obscuring ratio of anti-infrared smoke,a method which uses an thermal imaging instrument to measure the obscuring ratio of anti-infrared smoke is proposed.In this paper,the particular measuring method is presented and the concept of equivalent temperature is introduced.Through the use of the relative measuring method, the accuracy of the measured result is improved.The calculation procedure of the obscuring ratio of anti-infrared smoke is illustrated.This method is simple and practical and is of great value to practical applications.

Abstract:Missiles with stealth ability will be a trend for the missiles in the future and how to develop the missiles with stealth ability has been the research subject to which more attention are paid by many countries.In this paper,anti-radar stealth and anti-infrared stealth,the main technologies for missiles to implement stealth are described in brief.For missiles,the design of their shape and the use of wave absorption material are the key technologies against radars,and the infrared supression of their engines and the use of infrared material are the key technologies against infrared detectors.Finally,the current status and trend of missiles are analyzed.

Abstract:According to the characteristics of alternating current and the shortages of traditional current testing instruments,a kind of optical-fiber current sensor is designed on the basis of Faraday effect.The operation principle,structure and test result of the sensor are presented.The experimental result shows that this current sensor can measure the current of 30kA accurately and is a very effective and convenient method for measuring high current in daily life.

Abstract:As a new technology,the micro-opto-electromechanical systems (MOEMS) have been widely used in optical communication,optical display,data storage,optical sensing and etc..Compared with the traditional pressure sensors,the optical pressure sensor based on MOEMS has some unique advantages. In this paper,the structures,operation principles and fabrication processes of various MOEMS pressure sensors are described mainly.Finally,the structure and fabrication process of a MOEMS pressure sensor array is presented in brief.
