Abstract:Compared with other temperature measurement techniques, the optical temperature measurement techniques have many advantages such as non-contact, real-time and nondestructive features. They have a vital role in nation defense, military affairs and industry production. In this paper, four conventional optical temperature measurement techniques including the laser spectral temperature measurement, the holographic interference temperature measurement, the tricolor temperature measurement based on a CCD and the infrared temperature measurement are presented. Among the above four optical temperature measurement techniques, the infrared temperature measurement is the most widely used technique and its operation principle, method and particular applications are described in detail.

Abstract:The basic principle, test equipment and test condition of the capacity-voltage method for measuring the impurity distribution in junction diodes are presented completely. The formula for calculating the effective impurity concentration in the abrupt junction, the linearly graded junction and the random junction is deduced by using the capacity characteristics obtained when the reverse bias are applied to the p-n junction. Finally, the impurity concentration distribution in an IN5401 diode is calculated using the method and the characteristics of the p-n junction are analyzed.

Abstract:High power 14xxnm strained quantum well lasers are the key devices of the fiber optic Raman amplifiers and rare earth doped fiber amplifiers. They can provide high power and wide band output and have the features of tunable dynamics, good frequency stability and low cost. In this paper, the material growth, device structures and package processing of 14xxnm semiconductor lasers are presented in detail, the difficulties in the growth of AlGaInAs material and the modification of the material structure are summarized and the ridge waveguide structure with a cone gain region which is the most effective approach to obtain good high power far field single-mode characteristics is indicated. The latest product performance and research status of the high power 14xxnm semiconductor lasers at home and abroad are reported and the potential difficulties for the further development of high power 14xxnm semiconductor lasers are pointed out.

Abstract:In this paper, an infrared image acquisition and processing system based on ADSP-TS101S is presented. Several critical techniques for image acquisition and image processing are described in detail. In the system, an ADSP-TS101S is used to implement the preprocessing of images, a CPLD is used for logical control and a CDCI is used for data transmission. The test results have shown that the system has the features of good real-time performance, high calculation effectiveness and good operation stability.

Abstract:In this paper, a software for analyzing the images generated by a TVS-100 infrared thermal imager is developed by using the Visual Basic 6 programming language. The software has two major function: thermal image data reading and multiple format output. It has not only improved the ability for processing thermal images, but also gotten rid of the software dog and saved the cost for updating.

Abstract:Because of some shortcomings for the current atmospheric transmissivity calculation methods used in the real-time simulation of infrared imaging, a new algorithm for calculating the atmospheric transmissivity in the real-time simulation of infrared imaging is proposed according to the real-time and accurate requirements of transmissivity calculation. The new algorithm is simulated by using the Visual C++6.0 programming language. The infrared simulation and experiment evaluation under different conditions have shown that the algorithm has a good feasibility.

Abstract:The Photonic Crystal (PC) is a new concept and a new material proposed at the end of 1980's. For its unusual characteristics of controlling the movement of photons, it has a widespread application prospect in many fields. In this paper, the basic conception and characteristics of PC, the methods of fabrication of photonic crystal and various theoretical analysis method are presented respectively. Finally, the prospect of PCs in the future is forecasted.

Abstract:The physical properties of several long-wavelength infrared low refractive index materials, such as gadolinium oxide, erbium fluoride, zinc fluoride, indium fluoride and polyethylene were discussed in this paper. The preparation progress of these materials was summarized and the optical properties of these materials were reviewed. All of these materials will be the potential long wavelength infrared low refractive index materials in the future. However, further research would be prerequisite if these materials are applied in the design and manufacture of infrared filters.
