激光二次谐波在太赫兹液体相干探测技术中的作用与影响

中文摘要:太赫兹空气相干探测技术是太赫兹技术领域中一项重要的探测技术。目前,利用液体水(或其他液体)为作用介质可以将上述探测技术进行改进,即太赫兹液体相干探测技术。与空气相比,由于液体介质的三阶非线性系数较大,较弱的探测激光光强和太赫兹电场即可产生一定强度的二次谐波,因此这种技术的探测性能更优越。介绍了这种探测技术的基本原理,详细分析了该技术中激光二次谐波的作用及其强度对探测结果的影响,即强度不同时太赫兹电场和强度信号不同比值下探测结果在时域和频域的特点和性质;分析了激光二次谐波强度不同时该技术从非相干到相干性的演化规律、探测激光能量和介质非线性系数对相干性的影响;并探讨了固体材料在该技术中的使用,比较了气体、液体、与固体在该技术中对产生二次谐波和探测结果的影响。本文对理解和使用基于液体的太赫兹宽带相干探测技术有一定帮助。

The role and influence of laser second harmonic in the terahertz liquid coherent detection technology
Abstract:Terahertz air-based coherent detection technology is an important detection method in the terahertz applications. At present, this detection technology can be optimized by using liquid water (or other liquids) as the interaction medium, named terahertz liquid coherent detection. Compared with the air coherent detection method, the detection performance of this method is better because of the larger third-order nonlinear coefficient of liquid medium which needs weak probe laser and terahertz pulse. In this paper, the basic principle of liquid-based detection technology is introduced, and the role and influence of the intensity of laser second harmonic on this technique is analyzed with numerical calculations, which induces the different ratio of intensity and field of terahertz pulse. Then, the transition from the incoherent to coherent depending on the intensity of second harmonic is analyzed, as well as the influence of the intensity of the probe and the nonlinear coefficient of medium on the detection. At last, the application of solid state materials in this technique is discussed, and the detection performances of gas, liquid, and solid state materials in this technology are compared as well. This work will help to understand and apply the liquid-based terahertz broadband coherent detection technology.
